| DAY of nasty, distorted, too small PA and if that's not enough, Babylon was on the loose.. Riverside, MO. |
|
have to do this in retrospect.. was way too annoyed day of to write anything down.
best to cool off a bit... traditionally, the crowds have all been fantastic. they all show their love for all of us, all the acts on the bill without any prompting. this day was no exception! here we can see the enthusiastic crowd having pushed down the "barricade" (that might have been sufficient to stop a drunken chicken) and pressed to the front of the stage. |

| and this was early in the day as well..
so, the pa was stacked BEHIND these "ad panels".. really dumb. and the excuse was that the panels were there when the rig arrived, no forklift, etc.. OUR guys had to move the panels away from the sub woofers (that rattled horribly) before sound check. these things literally obscured the subs! you can get an idea of their size from the Prevo in the background. |

| so, to make a long story short all the drivers went back after the show to get the busses and the truck. Evidently the fine examples of police intelligence chose to detain all the drivers , not let them approach the vehicles on pain of arrest, for over half an hour. this was well after all the attendees had left, all that was left were the busses and the truck.
i guess a peaceful gathering of music lovers inclusive of Anglos and Africans was too much to handle. really too bad that this shit happens. fortunately not too often! the lesson; never think that "officials" only acts to protect the public. sometimes they just act like punks. |
