DAY of Day-Jah-Voo

Barrymore Theatre Madison, Wi.

Another great gig with a real PA! it really doesn't take much to make me happy...
the cool thing was i lived in Madison in the '70's.. felt like being home again!
i remember the Barrymore..there's something about being somewhere 30 years later and the vibe still being the same... kinda cool!
really wish i had been able to contact old friends and drive around a bit.
as it was we got in to town around 7pm and the doors were at 8. we held the doors for a bit..
the opener cancelled but the DJ was ok.
ITAL food from "Jamerica" to round it off.
real drag that this was the weekend of the first HOME GAME for UW. no hotels to be had.. so, off to Grand Rapids for our day off..

and you cannot help feeling a bit odd doing your gig on the anniversary of 9-11.
you press on, you think about how blessed you really are, to be doing your thing, post 9-11 and that you STILL can do your thing. your able to travel internationally and bring your art to the masses.
really is awesome that it still can be that way.
And you remember the loss, the terror, the fact that the USA is not the same, the world is not the same as it was.
and you hope, with all your convictions, that another 9-11 will not happen, that your country will never have to face homeland terror again, that some things in the world will find a way to fizzel out and become so much history, that the peoples of this planet will grow up and learn to get along and that you will always be able to do your thing freely.
cherish your freedom.
